Donald Duck was first shown on television on 09.06.1934. Visually, he has changed little since then, and his characteristic behavior, such as the sudden outburst of anger, still characterizes the figure.
Nevertheless, Donald Duck has developed under the pen of Enrico Faccini: he appears to be lively, charming and creative. Faccini allows him to deal with problems more successfully without letting him lose his characteristic clumsiness. He often survives dangerous situations and develops solutions that give the stories refreshing twists. His overconfidence helps him to quickly overcome possible setback.
After Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck is the oldest Disney cartoon character still active. In 2004, he even received a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, an honour that only a few cartoon characters have ever received.
